It looks like Sony is about to unveil another compact variant of the Xperia Z1, the yet-to-be-announced Xperia Z1S, which is touted to be the international version of the Xperia Z1 f.

According to a post on Chinese social networking site, Digi-Wo, Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia Z1S on November 12 at an event in Shanghai(via - KnowYourMobile) . The post doesn't shed much light on the other aspects of the phone.

The leaked press render of the Xperia Z1S has also appeared online, but no other details related to the phone are known at this point in time.

The Sony Xperia Z1S is believed to be the international variant of Xperia Z1 f (or Xperia Z1 mini), which was launched in the Japanese market, earlier in October, announced under Japanese telecom operator NTT DoCoMo's winter smartphone line-up. It is expected to be released in late December 2013, but no pricing details were revealed by Sony and NTT DoCoMo. The phone shares a lot with the Xperia Z1 in terms of hardware, barring the size of the display.

The Sony Xperia Z1 f (SO-02F) features a 4.3-inch TRILUMINOS HD (720x1280) display with X-Reality for Mobiles. It is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974 processor along with 2GB of RAM, much like its elder sibling. The Xperia Z1 f runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and is manufactured by a single aluminium frame with tampered glass on back and front panel. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage which is further expandable up to 64GB with the help of microSD card.

The highlight of the Xperia Z1 f is again the 20.7-megapixel Exmor RS sensor alongside its BIONZ image processor engine and pulsed LED flash, as seen in Xperia Z1. It also includes a 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. Connectivity options on the device include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/ GLONASS and NFC. The Xperia Z1 f packs a 2300mAh battery with STAMINA mode and is waterproof and dust-proof smartphone, like other high-end Xperia smartphones. The Xperia Z1 f comes in multiple colours, Black, Lime, Pink and White.
