Swipe 9X with 4.7-inch display, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 8,999

California-based Swipe Telecom has introduced Swipe 9X smartphone in the Indian market. However, the company prefers to call this smartphone a "Fablet".

The Swipe 9X sports a 4.7-inch HD capacitive multi-touch screen display. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. There is no word on the internal storage available on the smartphone but you can expand it by up to 32GB via microSD card.

Swipe 9X weighs 149 grams, and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). For camera, there is an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash and a 2-megapixel one on front.

Swipe9X is dual-SIM smartphone that offers GPS and A-GPS connectivity along with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, Gravity Sensor, Range Sensor, Torchlight. This smartphone also packs in a 2,000 mAh battery.

The smartphone is priced at Rs. 8,999 and to sweeten the deal the company is also offering three Back Shells in Black, White and Blue colours for free. Apart from this, the company is also throwing in a Business Navigator (flap cover) for free.

Swipe 9X will be competing with the recently launched Xolo Q700, Intex Aqua Wonder Quadcore Karbonn S1 Titanium and Karbonn S5 Titanium, which are being offered at a similar price point.

Swipe had launched MTV Volt phablet priced at Rs. 12,999 in February. It boasts a huge 6-inch (854x480 pixels) capacitive 5-point multi-touch display and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera too. Under the hood, it is powered by a 1GHz dual-core MTK 6577 processor with 512MB DDR3 RAM. There's 4GB of internal storage that can be expandable by another 32GB via microSD card.
