SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 128GB memory card launched at MWC 2014

SanDisk, a storage device company, has announced the SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-1 at the Mobile World Congress 2014 being held at Barcelona. The company claims it to be the world's "highest capacity microSDXC memory card" with 128GB storage,

The new 128GB SanDisk Ultra microSDXC UHS-I memory card can according SanDisk store up to 16 hours of full-HD videos, a total of 7,500 songs, 3200 images and over 125 apps. The new SDXC cards are said to be designed for Android-powered smartphones and tablets. The cards are available with BestBuy and Amazon online retail stores in the US for $199.99 (roughly Rs. 12,000).

It has been also mentioned that SanDisk Memory Zone app, which is available in Google Play Store under Beta version, "lets users easily view, access, and backup all of their files from their phone's memory in one convenient place."

The SanDisk's OptiMem feature enhances the user's Android smartphone's internal storage by automatically transferring old photos and videos to their microSD card. The OptiMem feature will "continuously monitor the user's mobile device memory levels, and inform them whenever the internal storage falls below a pre-defined threshold."

Recently, the firm launched two products in the Indian market - the SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive and SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 drive The Ultra Dual USB Drive is available in 16GB to 64GB capacities, priced from Rs. 1,199 to Rs. 3,800. The SanDisk Extreme PRO USB 3.0 drive is also available in a 128GB capacity, and is priced at Rs. 16,388.
