If you're having a difficulty in finding the option of exporting your contacts in LinkedIn, you're not alone. The social network for professionals has quietly removed this feature, and urges you to request an archive of your data for the same.

The export contacts feature allowed you to easily make a copy of all your contacts - with contact information such as email addresses, phone numbers, etc. The contacts could be downloaded as CSV or VCF files.

LinkedIn said that users who want to take a backup of their contacts' information should request for an archive. Users might not find this alternative feature pleasing as it could take up to 72 hours to process.

The archive feature will make a copy of data such as registration information, login history, email address history and statuses, account history, a list of your "1st" degree connections, and photos that you have uploaded to your account.

You will also be able to save your endorsements, list of skills, entries of all the recommendations you have given and received, content you have posted, as well as entries made to groups, and a log of your search queries among others.

"Our members can continue to easily request and export all of the data LinkedIn has stored on their account, by visiting our help center," a LinkedIn spokesperson said in a statement.

To request the company for an archive follow these steps: Click your profile picture placed at the rightmost top of the page; go to Accounts settings tab; select the option that says "Request an archive of your data."
