Asus Transformer Pad TF300TG 3G tablet debuts for Rs. 43,999

Not satisfied with the launch of the '3-in-1' mobile, tablet, netbook hybrid PadFone, Asus on Tuesday also announced the launch of Transformer Pad TF300TG tablet in India.

The Transformer Pad TF300TG is a 3G tablet powered by quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 4-Plus-1 1.2GHz processor. It comes with a 10-inch 1280*800 IPS display, 1GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

The tablet also ships with Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, 3G networking, GPS and a 8-megapixel rear, 1.2-megapixel front camera. microSD and HDMI ports are thrown in for good measure. The tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The bundled dock transforms the tablet into a netbook with a full-QWERTY keyboard, up to 14 hours of additional battery life of and a USB 2.0 and SD card.

Speaking on the launch of the Transformer Pad TF300TG, Alex Huang, Managing Director, Systems Business Group, Asus India Pvt Ltd. said "Asus is characterised by the courage to innovate. The Transformer Pad TF300TG comes with bundled apps like Press Reader, magazines from Zinio and books from Amazon Kindle. MyLibrary consolidates downloaded books, magazines and newspapers in to one easy step. Also included is Polaris Office 3.0 that lets users edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the move. In addition, the tablet comes with 8GB of Asus WebStorage free for life.

The tablet has been priced at Rs. 43,999 (including the bundled dock) which makes it more expensive the corresponding iPad 2 counterpart with 32GB of storage and 3G networking. You do get the dock that makes typing a lot easier, and provides additional functionality like USB ports and extended battery life.
