Apple has quietly raised the price of select iPad Pro variants in India and globally by as much as Rs. 6,000 and also discontinued the (Product)Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus models, as the company adjusts its lineup to accommodate the newly launched iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X models and rethinks about its strategy.

The iPhone-maker has raised the prices of select iPad Pro variants in India and elsewhere. Starting with the iPad Pro (12.9-inch), the Wi-Fi only 256GB model is now priced at Rs. 76,200 (up from Rs. 70,900), while the 512GB model now costs Rs. 93,200 (up from Rs. 86,400).

In the United States, too, the company has raised the prices of iPad Pro 256GB and 512GB variants. The 256GB and 512GB storage variants - the largest - of the iPad Pro (10.5-inch) and the iPad Pro (12.9-inch) are now $50 more expensive to purchase.

The revised price of the 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB iPad Pro (10.5-inch) variants is $649, $799, and $999 respectively. Similarly, the iPad Pro (12.9-inch) model with 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB models are now priced at $799, $949, and $1,149 respectively. The cellular models cost an additional $130 to their Wi-Fi-only counterparts, as before.

It wasn't immediately clear why Apple has raised iPad Pro's prices, but MacRumors speculated that it could be due to a surge in the market cost of NAND memory.

The company, which on Tuesday introduced three new iPhone models for the first time, quietly removed the (Product)Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 models from the US website, just six months after the debut of the product. The (Product)Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 models were launched earlier this year to celebrate the long partnership between Apple and (RED), which uses much of the fund to prevent HIV/AIDS in Africa.

At the time of publishing, several variants of the (Product)Red iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 models were available to purchase on Amazon India and Flipkart. If you were eyeing a (Product)Red iPhone, you should probably make the decision shortly.
