Huawei's Honor Band Zero Smartwatch, Honor Whistle Headset Unveiled

Huawei's Honor brand on Tuesday apart from launching the Honor 7 smartphone also revealed the new Honor Band Zero smartwatch and Honor Whistle Bluetooth headset.

The Chinese company is yet to reveal the availability and pricing details of both the wearable devices. As per a GSMArena report however, the Honor Band Zero smartwatch will be available in China starting August.

The Honor Band Zero sports a circular design and also features a brushed metal bezel around the corners. Much like other wearable devices, the Honor Band Zero features an IP68 certification making it dust-proof and water-resistant. The new wearable from Honor is said to show message notifications as well as display incoming calls; though no details whether users can answer calls via the Honor Band Zero.

The Honor Band Zero features pedometer for tracking steps and also comes with sleep tracker. It will be available in Black, Beige, and White colours. No details about the whether the smartwatch will run Android Wear or the firm's own operating system have been shared by Huawei.

The Honor Whistle Bluetooth headset also sports a brushed metal look. No details about the Bluetooth-enabled headset have been revealed. The company launched the Honor Whistle Bluetooth headset as an accessory for the Honor 7 smartphone.

The metal-clad Honor 7 smartphone will be available in China in three variants - priced at CNY 1999 (roughly Rs. 20,500) for the 16GB variant, CNY 2199 (roughly Rs. 22,600) for the 16GB dual-SIM variant, and CNY 2499 (roughly Rs. 25,600) for the 64GB variant.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop-based Honor 7 features a 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) display with a pixel density of 423ppi. Other specifications include a 64-bit octa-core Kirin 935 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores at 2.2GHz + four Cortex-A53 at 1.5GHz) coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone runs EMUI 3.1 skinned on top of Android. It comes with a microSD card slot, with expandability up to 128GB.

The Huawei Honor 7 sports a 20-megapixel rear camera and also houses an 8-megapixel front-facing fixed focus camera. The smartphone features a fingerprint sensor right below the rear camera.
