  • Lightroom to allow editing and sharing of non-converted Raw images
  • App to allow control over the shutter speed, ISO, and focus on Android
  • Both updates available right now from respective stores

Adobe has updated its Photoshop Lightroom app on both iOS and Android, and has brought significant improvements to both platforms. In case of iOS, Photoshop Lightroom v2.4 will now provide option to edit and share Raw photos instead of having to convert them into some other format like jpeg first.

Lightroom is calling this option Raw Technology Preview and in its Lightroom Journal it said, "You get all of the benefits of raw, such as the ability to change the white balance, being able to recover blown out highlights, access to the full range of colour information, as well as editing an uncompressed file, all using the exact same technology that powers Lightroom on your desktop."

Apart from this major addition, Adobe has added ability to perform local adjustments with linear and radial selections, and also the ability to use keyboard shortcuts with physical keyboards connected to iPad devices.

In case of Android, Photoshop Lightroom v2.1 gets a new Pro mode that allows you control the shutter speed, ISO, white balance, and focus all manually.

Adobe has also added its new camera widget that will allow users to get access to its inbuilt camera and start taking photos directly, making it faster for them to take photos and edit them in Photoshop Lightroom.

Adobe has also improved its Android app's ability to export full-resolution files and "If the files are available somewhere within the Lightroom ecosystem," the app will now download full-resolution version and allow you to export them, it added.
