Amazon on Thursday released Android and iOS apps for its enterprise focused cloud file sharing service called Amazon Zocalo, along with the support for larger files up to 5TB. The online retail giant had launched the limited preview of Amazon Zocalo service back in July to compete with the likes of Dropbox and Google.

The released Amazon Zocalo app for Android (version 4.0.3 or higher) and iOS (version 7.0 or higher) devices can be downloaded from the respective app stores. The service has a monthly fee of $5 (approximately Rs. 300) per user and comes with 200GB of data storage by default.

The company says that Android and iOS device users can start using Amazon Zocalo with their corporate credentials. Along with the ability to make comments and share documents, the app also includes an option to access documents offline.

In another move that will be appreciated by those who work with large files, the service now supports files up to 5GB. Amazon says that the sync clients will also prompt users for an update. With this, users will be able to upload, sync, and share files of up to 5TB.

"Zocalo users have been asking us to support larger files. Many of the requests have been coming from health care and media companies. For example, one of our largest Zocalo customers is a media production company. They appreciate the fact that Zocalo stores data in S3 and asked us to match the existing S3 object size limit of 5 TB," said Jeff Barr, Chief Evangelist, Amazon Web Services.
