Mozilla, celebrating 10 years of Firefox on Monday, released an update to Firefox browser (v33.1) for Android, Linux, Mac and Windows, which adds a new 'Forget' button for users, along with DuckDuckGo as a standard search option. The company also released the first Firefox Developer Edition browser, specifically built for developers.

Now with the updated Firefox 33.1, users have the option of adding the new Forget button on the top right of their Firefox browser, which allows them to clear some recent activity like cookies, history and more. Users have the option of deleting this data for the last 5 minutes, 2 hours, or 24 hours. The Forget button will automatically close all tabs and windows along and open a fresh window.

Additionally, Mozilla in Firefox 33.1 has added DuckDuckGo as a standard search option, for Android, Linux, Mac and Windows. DuckDuckGo essentially provides search results without tracking user details.

The company also released its first Firefox Developer Edition browser, which it had announced last week. The browser, "built by developers for developers", integrates new filters to put developers' interests first. From tools like WebIDE and the Firefox Tools Adapter, Firefox Developer Edition browser is built for developers to debug the whole Web, says Mozilla, and features none of the restrictions and beautifications of the consumer facing version.

Mozilla also announced a new privacy-focused program called Polaris. The company says that Polaris initiative focuses on user privacy online

"Polaris is a privacy initiative built to pull together our own privacy efforts along with other privacy leaders in the industry. Polaris is designed to allow us to collaborate more effectively, more explicitly and more directly to bring more privacy features into our products," notes Mozilla Privacy Blog.
