Google+ app now available for the iPad

As promised during the Google IO developers' conference, Google has released the iPad optimised app for its social network Google+.

The stunning new app brings the Google+ experience to the world's most popular tablet, complete with support for "Hangouts", the Google+ style video-chat that lets users interact with up to 9 friends. As an added bonus, users can stream the Hangout to their HDTV using AirPlay and AppleTV.

The iPhone side of the app if updated as well, with the ability to create and manage events right on the phone. Users can post a comment, upload photos or check out who's going to an event. Past event invitations are saved with photos and posts shared by friends.

The app turns universal and has been bumped up to v3.0. It is available as a free download from the App Store.
