Imangi Studios recently launched a sequel to the smash hit non stop running game Temple Run. Now, the studio has released another spin-off in association with Disney called Temple Run: Oz, based on the upcoming Disney adventure film, Oz the Great and Powerful (releasing March 8 2013 in US).

The game boasts stunning environments, especially the famed Yellow Brick Road, inspired from the movie itself. You will get to play as Oz while being chased by the shrieking flying baboons.

The game seems to get even better this time demanding greater focus and better reflexes with automatically changing environments as you turn, jump over falling obstacles and slide through danger as you explore the game's locations by following various sign posts. Following the sign posts gives you the option of choosing which environment you'll run to next.

If you download the app on Tuesday March 5, folks at Imangi give you 1500 coins for free, which is $0.99 worth of coins to buy power-ups and more. You can also fly in a hot air balloon across the land of Oz to earn more coins and also compete in weekly challenges with friends.

This is the second Temple Run game from Imangi in collaboration with Disney, the first being Temple Run: Brave for iOS and Android. The locale and character of this game is based on the Disney - Pixar movie, Brave. You are in control of Merida, the main protagonist - helping her run, slide, jump and turn and shoot your way across the wilds of Scotland.

Imangi Studios released the successor to the popular original Temple Run title on iOS on January 17, and the game became the most-downloaded free app within 24 hours. The game clocked over 20 million downloads in just four days on iOS alone.

A week after the iOS release, Temple Run 2 was released on Android and the game reached total of 50 million downloads in just 13 days.

The game has broken the record of Angry Birds Space that reached the landmark of 50 million downloads in 35 days.

As noted earlier, Temple Run 2 is successor to the original title Temple Run that was an instant hit with over 170 million downloads across the App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Marketplace.
