Nikon has announced the latest AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TC1.4 FL ED VR super-telephoto zoom lens at CES 2018. This professional zoom lens offers a constant f/4 aperture and a wide 180-400mm focal length. The lens will be made available in March 2018 for a price of $12,399.95 (roughly Rs. 7,89,800).

As we mentioned, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 180-400mm f/4E TV1.3 FL ED VR super-telephoto zoom lens is the latest professional, sports-focused FX-format lens from the Japanese tech giant. It equips the new NIKKOR lens technology and features an inbuilt 1.4X teleconverter. "This lens is a great example of how Nikon continues to push the boundaries of innovation and what's possible with pro-level optics and high-end imaging equipment," said Kosuke Kawaura, Director of Marketing and Planning, Nikon Inc.

The zoom lens has been built for capturing fast-moving sports and wildlife objects from a distance. The 180-400mm lens bears an electromagnetic diaphragm that helps it create smooth exposures for burst shots. Nikon's 153-point autofocus system helps enhance the coverage throughout the frame.

It also has a fluorite element that offers improved balance and lighter components. A ball-bearing tripod collar ring, to allow for smoother transitions from horizontal to vertical compositions, is also present on the zoom lens. It uses magnesium alloy to help minimise the overall weight. Additionally, the lens uses a fluorine coating to protect against water and dust.

"The optical formula of the lens uses eight Extra Low Dispersion (ED) elements, doubling the amount of ED elements used by its predecessor, the NIKKOR 200-400mm. These help to provide extremely sharp and detailed images and 4K UHD / 1080p video, and is ideally mated to high resolution Nikon DSLR cameras. Nikon's exclusive Nano Crystal Coat is used to effectively suppress instances of ghosting and flare," according to Nikon USA's official post.
