Sony India has pushed up the release of hotly anticipated PlayStation 4 (PS4) exclusive, Bloodborne, to Wednesday. The game was earlier slated to release on Friday, the same day as the UK.

It appears that the host of street date breaks (games available on store shelves before their release date) which saw the game release as early as last week in parts of Canada and Middle East have prompted Sony to break its own street date for the game. However the real reason is to keep it "in-line with the Europe release date", a Sony spokesperson told us.

The move has taken more than a few enterprising grey market sellers off guard, some of whom had imported stock from the Middle East as late as today.

"I managed to get around 30 units ahead of time expecting the game to hit on March 27. Now the distributor informs me that stock is coming in tomorrow. With the game coming early, I'm stuck with more expensive stock of Bloodborne," said one independent retailer.

The spokesperson for Sony also confirmed that the game would be hitting shelves across the country from Wednesday with all of India getting the game by Thursday at the latest. The game will retail for Rs. 3,999.

With the company delaying Uncharted 4 and announcing yet another remaster in God of War III, an early release for Bloodborne is welcome relief for many a gamer in the country. Of late, Sony has not been the most punctual with its game releases. Most notable being LittleBigPlanet 3 and DriveClub which were delayed due to the company switching distributors.
