Since its prototypes were showcased at E3 last year, Nintendo fans have been keeping a close watch on the Wii U. Courtesy Twitter and an enthusiastic quality tester at TT games, new images of the company's sixth gaming console have surfaced indicating a slightly different design.
The tweet has now been removed, but not before folks at Joystiq grabbed a screenshot of the tablet-like console featuring two full-sized analog sticks as opposed to the circle pads sported by the 3DS.
The plus and minus buttons appear on the right while the Wii U logo finds room at the bottom left corner. Two unknown square-like buttons are also spotted, one below the D-pad and the other between the power button and battery life indicator. The Start and Select buttons have also been moved from the base to the right of the controller.
The final design of the NFC compatible console is expected to be unveiled at E3 this year.
