In our weekly column, we look at the leaders of the technology industry in India, to find out how they work, and which gadgets define their lives. This week, Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO and co-founder of Olacabs, tells us about his favourite apps and devices.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I use a Macbook Air, an iPhone 5s, an iPad Mini and a Kindle Paperwhite. My iPhone doubles up as a camera and I'm not too much into gaming! I also have a Fitbit Flex, which I use for activity tracking.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
I love Evernote, Fitbit (of late) and of course the Olacabs app. All are lifesavers in their own ways. Evernote is critical for penning notes, [and] I use it on my phone and on my Mac to file whiteboard discussions. I also use the Evernote Moleskine notebook to sync handwritten notes with my devices.

Fitbit is for all the activity tracking I get done - gymming is routine, however not enough in isolation. Fitbit helps make fitness fun! I do a little extra workout or a walk towards the end of the day or adjust my calories intake accordingly if I see my numbers are down for the day.

I don't own a car, and I guess I never will, so I only use cabs all the time. That's why I always rely on the Olacabs app to get anywhere.

What is one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Now, it is a Kindle. I used to keep an iPad handy but I must say Kindle helps in getting more reading done than ever before. It is a one point reading destination for me that includes books, magazines and newspapers. This second gadget [other than the phone] keeps changing from time to time though.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Tesla, Model X is surely a dream gadget! The Model X is splendid because of what it brings to the road, in spite of it being alternate energy-driven. We do have a lot of ground to prepare for fully electric cars but the future is always nearer than what we think.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
It's everywhere, also core to what we do at Ola. More than anything else, it has made life simple, solving real problems, at scale that too. Technology has made information consumable by being contextual and relevant. I can find anything around me, go anywhere I want, do whatever I like with the tap of a button without having any knowledge of anything whatsoever. I can decide where I want to go, my preference of travel, directions to get there and still not be worried about getting lost or being taken for a ride in a new city. This is applicable for food, travel, productivity, fitness and everywhere!
