Personally Tech With Saavn's Global COO Mahesh Narayanan

Every week, we look at the different apps and gadgets that people from all walks of life love and can't live without. In our column Personally Tech, we talk to business leaders, artists, and other similar people to learn how technology is a part of their lives.

This week, NDTV Gadgets spoke to Mahesh Narayanan, Global Chief Operating Officer, Saavn. Narayanan has previously worked with Google, and joined AdMob as its India head just one year before Google acquired it. For three years, he worked as the Country Head, Mobile for Google India, before joining Sociomantic Labs, which was later acquired too.

Very much a techie at heart, Narayanan has a clear set of favourite gadgets, and his loyalties seem to be split between Google and Apple. Read on to know more about the apps and gadgets Narayanan can't live without.

1. Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Mahesh Narayanan
: I use a Macbook Air, Google Nexus 5, and an iPad Air. Apple's products are cutting edge, but when it comes to smartphones, I prefer Android!

2. What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Mahesh Narayanan
: Twitter, Uber, and Saavn (of course!) - sometimes all at the same time.

3. What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Mahesh Narayanan
: My Bose QuietComfort 20 Acoustic Noise-Cancelling headphones, because music and Mumbai's incessant horns tend to clash!

4. What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Mahesh Narayanan
: Mind controlled cars!

5. How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Mahesh Narayanan
: Technology has given the power of connectivity, helping me make real-time business decisions across our offices in different regions of the globe.
