After much speculation, HP has finally launched the HP Slate6 VoiceTab phablet and HP Slate7 VoiceTab tablet, announcing it for the Indian market.

The former top PC maker has not revealed the pricing for both devices, but notes that the HP Slate6 VoiceTab and HP Slate7 VoiceTab can be expected to be available in India next month. It's worth pointing out that HP is touting both the newly launched devices as voice-calling tablets, though a 6-inch device is generally considered a phablet, or a smartphone-tablet hybrid.

Unfortunately, the company has not revealed the detailed specifications of both the devices, only detailing a few. The HP Slate6 VoiceTab phablet and HP Slate7 VoiceTab tablet come with dual-SIM support with voice-calling and dual standby. In addition, both the devices support 3G connectivity. The HP Slate6 VoiceTab and HP Slate7 VoiceTab run on Android, but HP has not mentioned the OS version.

The Slate6 VoiceTab, as the name suggests, features a 6-inch IPS display (unspecified resolution), while the Slate7 VoiceTab comes with a 7-inch IPS display, with no word on the resolution. Both the devices are powered by a quad-core processor, with no word on the chipset and clock speed. The Slate6 and Slate7 sport dual HD cameras: front and rear, but the company has not specified the resolution. Further, there is no word on the RAM, battery and storage of the HP Slate6 VoiceTab and HP Slate7 VoiceTab.

Commenting on the launch, Rajiv Srivastava, vice president & general manager, Printing and Personal Systems, HP India said, "How we create, consume and share information is rapidly evolving, driving the demand for new devices and form factors that adapt to the different ways people work and play. HP is innovating for this next generation, addressing the unique needs of customers in India with voice-enabled tablets that deliver performance they can trust, and the entertainment they want."
