LG and Samsung have a long history of taking digs at each other on social media. The latest example is no exception.

LG last week in a tweet poked fun at Samsung which used non-removable batteries in its last generation of high-end Galaxy smartphones. LG did not go that route with the G4 last year, and clearly prefers offering its customers the option to swap out batteries if required.

Samsung in a tweet last week touted fast charging capability of its Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphone. It said, "Go from zero to full in just 90 minutes with the built-in fast charging capabilities of the #GalaxyS6edgePlus." LG replied back saying, "Samsung Mobile Go from zero to full instantly with a removable battery." In this case, LG was referring to its V10 smartphone which launched last year.

Considering that LG is teasing removable battery capability on its smartphones, we can expect the LG G5 to also launch with a removable battery.

LG has already confirmed its presence at the upcoming MWC 2016 show which is scheduled to start from February 22-25 in Barcelona. The South Korean company is widely expected to unveil the next flagship G5 smartphone.

According to preliminary leaks, LG's next flagship G5 smartphone is expected to feature a refreshed design from its predecessor. The smartphone is also expected to feature a fingerprint scanner at the back panel just below the camera. One of the biggest design changes tipped show that the company will opt to keep the volume rocker keys on the sides. The power key is likely to serve a dual purpose as it may integrate the fingerprint scanner.

Some of the rumoured specifications tipped for the LG G5 include an all-metal build and may pack a 5.6-inch QHD display. To refresh, the LG G4 features a 5.5-inch QHD IPS LCD display. Another highlight feature of the G5 that is being rumoured for long is the "ticker display" which is likely to sport a screen resolution of 160x1040 pixels, again same as the one found on the V10 smartphone.
