It seems the previously announced Motorola-Intel partnership is finally bearing fruit, as Motorola has just started sending out invites for a press event on September 18. The event is being organised along with Intel, so we are expect a smartphone (or tablet may be?) announcement.

The event is scheduled in London, which means we are going to see a global device unveiling.

We are yet to see any leaks pertaining to this upcoming announcement, but there are still a few days and we expect to see something pretty soon.

As such the press invite does not suggest much, but Motorola is promising to take us "to the edge," unless this Google's subsidiary is planning to show a device named Edge, we are not sure what it means.

Intel has already released one or the other smartphone with all of its partners including Lava and Lenovo, but Motorola is still left to launch anything with the chip-maker, which would happen at this event.

September is going to be one big month for gadget launches, starting with IFA, Apple's iPhone launch, Nokia device announcements, and Amazon launch.
