  • Mysterious Nokia smartphone spotted in five variants
  • The phone will come with Bluetooth 4.2+HS and LTE support
  • It is rumoured to have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 205

Alongside its Android-running touchscreen models, HMD Global-owned Nokia brand is now apparently bringing a QWERTY phone. The new development has emerged through a certification on Bluetooth SIG that lists the smartphone with model numbers TA-1047, TA-1060, TA-1056, TA-1079, and TA-1066. Previously, the same model is said to have appeared on FCC that confirmed the presence of dual-SIM support and FM radio. This is not the first time a Nokia QWERTY phone has been tipped, but at the time, it was expected to be a smartphone - now though, a 'smart' feature phone may be likely.

As per the Bluetooth SIG certification, all the five variants of the mysterious Nokia phone will come with Bluetooth 4.2+HS. The models are also listed with LTE support to deliver high-speed data access on faster networks.

NokiaPowerUser reports that the new Nokia QWERTY phone is likely to come with a customised operating system. A recent FCC listing reportedly highlighted that the phone measures 133 x 68 x 140 mm. There are speculations that the handset would feature a 3.3-inch display with 480x480 pixels resolution and a Qualcomm 205 SoC. Further, folks at NokiaPowerUser reported that the handset will run Kai OS.

It is unclear whether the new Nokia smartphone would join the current portfolio that has the Nokia 2 as the most inferior offering. However, HMD Global is hosting an event on January 19 to reportedly launch the Nokia 9 and upgraded editions of the Nokia 6 and Nokia 8. All the three smartphone models are likely to run Android Oreo out of the box. Among others, the Nokia 9 is expected to be the new flagship by the Finnish company - featuring a dual camera setup on the front and back and a thin-bezel display.
