The official CyanogenMod ROM for the OnePlus 2 has been spotted in the community's GitHub repository, tipping that the handset may soon get support for the custom ROM.

CyanogenMod's official GitHub repository now lists both CyanogenMod 12.1 and CyanogenMod 13 builds for the OnePlus 2 smartphone; though users cannot download them as of now. We can expect to them to be available to download soon.

It's worth noting that unofficial CyanogenMod 12.1 was available for the OnePlus 2 smartphone via XDA Developer forum; though it would not bring community support and guarantee other features such as quality control from the community. The official CyanogenMod ROM for the OnePlus 2 was spotted on Reddit. The device codename, like 'bacon' for the OnePlus One, is not yet known.

So far, the CyanogenMod community has not made any official announcement regarding availability of the official CyanogenMod ROM for the OnePlus 2. The community recently had announced that CM13 nightly builds based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow were available to download for select handsets.

OnePlus earlier this month revealed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update schedule for its devices and confirmed that the OnePlus One running Cyanogen OS will start receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the first quarter of 2015. It added that the community builds of OxygenOS for the OnePlus One would be updated "when time allows".

The company added that the OnePlus 2 would be updated in Q1 next year with a Marshmallow-based OxygenOS build, and the update would add the new standard Marshmallow API for the fingerprint sensor. The company had recently rolled out OxygenOS 2.1.2 update to the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones.

The company last week announced the start of the OxygenOS 2.1.3 OTA update rollout for its OnePlus X. The update focused on improving the user experience with SD cards, brings security patches, and more.
