The international version of the HTC One X seems to have run into a technical snag, with a bug in the Wi-Fi connectivity option. Users are reporting a sudden loss of connection for no reason at all.

In some cases the problem caused rapid battery drain, while in others the phone was simply incapable of connecting to Wi-Fi networks. What is even stranger is the supposed fix for this problem. Some users have reported temporary improvement of the signal, if the phone is squeezed at the back between the camera lens and volume buttons, noted The Inquisitr.

HTC accepted responsibility for the problem and claimed that it had already solved issues on the assembly line. For devices already released, it identified a fix that strengthened the area of the phone around the Wi-Fi antennae connection points.

It definitely seems to be a hardware issue and not something that can be fixed with a software update, so it will be interesting to see what HTC does with the devices already shipped. Reports to Andoid Central also state that the issue has only been reported in Tegra 3 models so far.

Further, the company urged any users suffering from such problems to return their handsets to the point of purchase and promised that the new units would be problem free.
