Reliance's much-anticipated Lyf series of smartphones will come with the company's SIMs and will be bundled with offers, according to a recent report that also tips the launch date.

The company is likely to launch its Lyf smartphones in the first week of February in at least 13 cities, the report claims. Reliance Jio is said to offer company's SIM cards and up to 50GB of free bundled 4G data. The Reliance Jio SIM cards are also likely to offer up to 5,000 minutes of free bundled talk time on Reliance Jio network, and up to 5,000 free SMS messages.

RTN.Asia on Monday reported citing sources in retail that the phones will go on sale in cities such as Bengaluru, Baroda, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Patna, and Pune.

The report adds that Reliance has built up stocks of its Lyf branded phones in order to meet the demand at launch. It also claims that the Reliance Jio's Lyf branded phones, said to be called the Lyf Earth 1, Earth 2, Earth 3, and Earth 4, may be priced in the starting range of Rs. 9,999-22,000.

The report adds that the company is also working on a cheaper series of smartphones that will be based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 chipset, and not the Snapdragon 615 that will be featured on the other Lyf Earth phones. These phones will be priced around the Rs. 5,000 mark. The report adds it is uncertain if all the bundled offers will be applicable to all the models, or the period of validity of these offers.

Reliance has so far not revealed launch plans for the Lyf smartphones, or even exactly when the company's 4G network will be rolled out to the public. Earlier this month, details of first Lyf smartphone dubbed Lyf Earth 1 running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box were revealed.

To refresh, the dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM) Lyf Earth 1 sports a 5.5-inch Amoled display with a full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution, translating to a pixel density of 401ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC, coupled with Adreno 405 GPU. Other specifications include dual rear cameras - with one 13-megapixel sensor and one 2-megapixel sensor; also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera; 32GB of inbuilt storage; expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 64GB), and 3500mAh battery. The specifications were independently confirmed by Gadgets 360 from Reliance.
