  • There are dozens of markets where the testing is reportedly taking place
  • These markets are spread across Europe, Latin America, and Asia

Just weeks after being rumoured for testing its first Android Go handset in four initial markets, including India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, Samsung is now claimed to have widened the testing development to dozens of new markets across the globe. It is reported that the handset, carrying model number SM-J260F, SM-J260M, and SM-J260G, is being tested in various markets across Europe, Latin America, and Asia. One of the said models surfaced on Geekbench in April and is believed to debut as the Galaxy J2 Core. Similar to other Android Go handsets, the unannounced Samsung could run Android Oreo (Go edition).

Folks at SamMobile report that the SM-J260F model is being tested in the UK, Uzbekistan, Caucasus Countries, Germany, Italy, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, France, and Poland, while Samsung is testing the SM-J260M model in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Trinidad, and Tobago, Peru, Panada, and Paraguay. Similarly, in the new Asian markets, including Cambodia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam, the SM-J260G is being tested. This is notably the same model that was previously reported to be in the testing process in India, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.

It is expected that all of these will be the markets where Samsung will launch the new Android Go smartphone. If we believe the details found on the Geekbench listing, the handset will have 1GB of RAM and include an optimised version of the Exynos 7570 SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.43GHz. The SM-J260G was also spotted in a trademark application with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.
