Samsung Galaxy S9 could take yet another cue from Apple's iPhone X if rumours are to be trusted. While earlier rumours had claimed that Samsung has been working on an enhanced iris scanner to take on the iPhone X's Face ID feature, a new report has said that the Galaxy S9 may also come with a 3D emojis. An ETNews report claims the upcoming flagship smartphone will be unveiled with iPhone X's Animoji-like feature which will mimic a user's facial expressions. According to the report, the Galaxy S9 will also feature dual stereo speakers on the top and bottom.

The South Korean technology giant is not the first company to borrow the Animoji-like feature from Apple. Honor had showcased something similar last year as well. Meanwhile, the decision to introduce the 3D emoji feature makes sense as last month Samsung had launched its latest Exynos 9810 SoC which comes with better face recognition capabilities. Samsung had said that the technology will help the processor to accurately recognise people in pictures, as well as allow deep sensing to scan a user's face in 3D for hybrid face detection, utilising both hardware and software. The ETNews report has claimed that the Galaxy S9 will have a 3D emoji function, which is more advanced than the iPhone X Animoji.

As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy S9 could be getting top and bottom stereo speakers, which will be a change from the Galaxy S8, which had speakers beneath the screen. The new setup may mean that users will have to worry less about covering up a speaker while watching movies or playing games. Additionally, the report also notes the Bixby button stays on the left of the screen. Samsung is clearly working towards improving Bixby so that it can compete with Siri and Google Assistant.

The Galaxy S9 lineup has become the talk of the town, ahead of MWC 2018, where Samsung is set to host its Galaxy Unpacked event. While there are several rumours floating on the Internet, we will find out the exact details on February 25, when the handsets officially launch.
