After wooing the early adopters with their 5-inch phablets, Samsung Galaxy Note and Samsung Galaxy Note II, Samsung now seems to be mulling a more affordable 5-inch device. If reports by androidauthority.com are to be believed, then the Korean smartphone maker will be soon launching a 5-inch Galaxy Grand in South Korea.

Techkiddy has reported that Samsung Galaxy Grand, which is code named Baffin and is carrying the model number SHV-E270S / SHV-E270K has already cleared FCC. Samsung had launched the first Galaxy Note tablet at IFA 2011 and a successor to it, Samsung Galaxy Note II at IFA 2012.  On Monday, the company also announced via its Korean website that sales of its Galaxy Note II have topped 5 million barely two months since the phablet started shipping.

On November 24, Samsung had introduced a dual-SIM variant of Galaxy Note 2 in China. The device, is offering GSM/HSDPA support on both the SIM cards. It is expected that after testing waters in China, Samsung will be launching this device in other markets such as USA soon. Though there are no clear indications about India launch, given how Indian consumers lap on to dual-SIM options, it will be sooner rather than later, that one might see this smartphone in India.
