SanDisk Dual Drive Pen Drives for Android Smartphones Launched in India Starting at Rs. 700

Western Digital on Thursday launched a new storage drive for Android users in India. The SanDisk Dual Drive is a mobile storage pen drive designed for Android smartphone users who find themselves needing some extra storage on-the-go. These pen drive ranges from 16GB to 128GB in capacity and start at Rs. 700. It is available via all e-commerce platforms and in retail outlets across the country.

The SanDisk Dual Drive promises to make data transferring a piece of cake for Android users as it features both Micro-USB and USB connectors, making it easier to transfer content and manage files between different devices. Note that these pen drives are only compatible with Android smartphones that support USB with OTG. The company believes that given the number of sub-Rs. 10,000 Android smartphones that support OTG in the market, these pen drives will come in handy for quick data transfer to easily free up storage on their phone.

Western Digital found that around 60 percent smartphone users in the country share over 10MB of data daily, based on a study it conducted. It also found that 50 percent consumers use data cables or Bluetooth to transfer data from the smartphone to other devices. The SanDisk Dual Drive comes in four storage options of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB, which are priced at Rs. 700, Rs. 1,150, Rs. 2,000, and Rs. 3,500, respectively.

Consumers for the SanDisk Dual Drive will also need download an accompanying SanDisk Memory Zone app to be able to backup their gallery and mange files and media. WD says the redesigned app now includes an aggregated view of all content, a new timeline based photo browser, an integrated video and music player, and built-in file compression and decompression capabilities. Additionally, the app also lets users backup photos, contacts and content from social media sites like Facebook and Instagram.
