Reports are indicating that the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6, LG G4, and Sony Xperia Z4 flagships may get delayed due to newly found issues with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset.

Qualcomm's flagship chipset reportedly heats up at certain voltage levels, resulting in under-performance. The company's Adreno 430 GPU is also being said to be giving problems due to errors found in the drivers. The RAM controller of the application processor is also said to be facing issues, while a production delay may also be to blame.

"Qualcomm is faced with hard-to-solve problems. The Snapdragon 810 overheats when it reaches a specific voltage. It also slows down owing to problems with the RAM controller connected to the AP. In addition, there is an error in the driver of the Adreno 430 GPU," said an industry source on December 2 to Business Korea (via Phonearena).

Samsung however can still rely on its Exynos range of processors if not the latest Snapdragon 810. LG's NUCLUN chip has also debuted in recently launched LG G3 Screen smartphone. The first mobile application processor (AP) from LG, the Nuclun, features an octa-core processor (with four Cortex-A15 cores, and four Cortex-A7 cores) apart from ARM's big.LITTLE core management technology.

The new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 reportedly (via Phonearena) includes four Cortex A57 cores with four Cortex A53 cores. While the Cortex A57 is high-performance cores, the Cortex A53 focus more on power efficiency. While the Cortex A57 is said to be clocked at 1.9GHz, the Cortex A53 is clocked at 1.5GHz.
