Swipe Halo Fone with 3G support, 6.5-inch display launched at Rs. 6,999

Swipe has launched the Halo Fone smartphone-tablet hybrid for the Indian market at Rs. 6,999. The company is also selling the phablet via an e-commerce website.

The highlight of the Swipe Halo Fone is its large 6.5-inch display which offers a 480x800 pixel resolution. The Swipe Halo Fone runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and offers dual-SIM (3G+2G) functionality.

A dual-core MediaTek MTK6572 processor powers the device, clocked at 1.3GHz, coupled with a Mali-400 GPU and 512MB of RAM.

The Swipe Halo Fone sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera as well. The Swipe Halo Fone handset comes with 4GB of in-built storage, and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

The Halo Fone supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options. It is backed by a 2800mAh battery, which according to the company can deliver up to 6 hours of talktime and 150 hours of standby time. The Swipe Halo Fone is available in Black colour variant. The Swipe Halo Fone measures 183x101x9mm and weighs 235 grams.

Earlier in March, Swipe Sonic smartphone was available online at Rs. 7,399. It offers dual-SIM (GSM+CDMA) functionality with dual standby and supports EVDO technology for data.

The budget smartphone from Swipe runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, and features a 4-inch display with a WVGA (480x800 pixel) resolution. A 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (MSM8625) processor powers the Swipe Sonic, alongside 512MB of RAM.

The Swipe Sonic sports a 2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, while there is also a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The new Swipe handset supports up to 32GB expandable storage via T-Flash card, though there is no word on inbuilt storage.

It supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Micro-USB, and A-GPS connectivity options. It is powered by a 1500mAh battery, the Swipe Sonic measures 122x63.7x12mm and weighs 126 grams.
