Xiaomi has released first teaser image of its upcoming Mi Max phablet ahead of the May 10 launch. The teaser was shared by Xiaomi CEO Jun Lei and shows the side profile of the Mi Max smartphone. Apart from the side profile of the handset, the physical volume rocker and power buttons are visible on the right side.

We can expect the company to share more teasers in the coming days ahead of the official launch on May 10.

A recently leaked Tenaa listing tipped specifications of the Mi Max smartphone including a 6.44-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display, which could be considered as a highlight of the device. It packed hexa-core Snapdragon 650 processor and would come in two variants - 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage and 3GB of RAM with 32GB storage. The handset was seen sporting a 16-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It came with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Glonass, and 3G. The handset was listed to pack a 4000mAh battery.

As per the listing of the Xiaomi Mi Max, the smartphone looked very similar to the Mi Note smartphone that launched last year. It had no physical button as rumoured previously.

Xiaomi at its May 10 event will also to reveal the next version of its MIUI ROM which will be seen running on the Mi Max smartphone - which is expected to be the platform lead device of MIUI 8. Xiaomi had shared a demo video showing its upcoming MIUI 8 notification bar which had received cosmetic changes.
