Honor 7 Is a True Pocket-Sized Dynamo

By Sponsored Content | Updated: 16 November 2015 07:58 IST

Gadgets 360 called the Honor 7 a 'metallic powerhouse' in its review, and when you take a closer look at what's under the hood of the smartphone, it's easy to understand why reviewers are praising this pocked-sized dynamo.

The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2-inch full-HD display with an impressive contrast ratio of 1500:1 and a high colour saturation rate of 85 percent NTSC. The smartphone is powered by the Kirin 935 processor with eight cores for superior performance, with the fastest clocked at a blazing 2.2GHz. Coupled with a 3GB RAM under the hood, the Honor 7 goes head-to-head against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S6, and is capable of handling everything that you throw at it, while making sure the end user gets a smooth and stable experience.

The Honor 7 comes with 16GB of internal storage, and if that's not enough you can simply pop-in a microSD card to add up to 128GB of storage, a feature that Samsung's latest flagship doesn't offer. The phone is backed by a 3100mAh battery and Honor's SmartPower 3.0 technology is great at squeezing the most use out of the device on those busy days.

The Honor 7 comes with support for quick charging, which charges the smartphone from zero to full within 1 hour 25 minutes, and zero to 50 percent in 30 minutes flat. The Honor 7 also comes with a reverse charging feature that lets users charge other devices using the smartphone, which is sure to come in handy when your other devices run out of juice.

The Honor 7 runs EMUI 3.1, which is built on top of Android Lollipop. The company is already testing Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the latest version of Google's mobile operating system, for the phone and has promised to deliver the update by February 2016, which will enable it to steal a march over its more fancied rivals.

One of the highlights of the Honor 7 in terms of specifications - and indeed in terms of performance - are its 20-megapixel rear and 8-megapixel front cameras. Read more about the stunning cameras of the Honor 7.

The Honor 7 comes with industry's first metal frame-free fingerprint reader, which means it looks and feels completely seamless, blending in with the stunning design of the smartphone. The scanner can unlock your device within just 0.5 seconds and is capable of 360-degree quick and accurate fingerprint recognition, which means you can hold and use the phone whichever way you want. That's not all, you can also use the fingerprint sensor to open the notification panel, dismiss notifications, take a photo, answer calls, and even turn off alarms!

As far as connectivity options are concerned, there's everything you would want from a modern-day flags, including NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and 4G LTE, including support for bands deployed by Indian cellular operators.
