Nvidia's Shield tablet was launched last year with a price tag of $299 (roughly Rs. 19,000). The company however was forced to recall some of its Shield tablets in the US after it found the battery in device can overheat, posing a possible fire hazard.

The company on Tuesday has re-launched its Nvidia Shield tablet as the Shield Tablet K1 priced at $199 (approximately Rs. 13,000). The tablet targeted at gamers is now available in the US, Canada, and a few European markets. The Nvidia Shield Tablet K1 is also available online via Amazon and Best Buy in the US as well as the company's store. Notably, the company has only listed the Wi-Fi version of the Shield Tablet K1 and has not detailed any plans to launch an LTE version.
