Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet with Snapdragon 801 goes on sale in UK

Sony's recently launched Xperia Z2 Tablet has gone on sale in the UK. While the tablet's Wi-Fi only 16GB and 32GB storage variants are available at GBP 399 (roughly Rs. 39,800) and GBP 449 (roughly Rs. 44,700) respectively, the 4G 16GB variant is priced at GBP 499 (roughly Rs. 49,700) and is still only available on pre-order.

The tablets are only available in Black colour variant on the Sony UK website. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet first came up for pre-orders in February in the UK and other European regions including Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Poland.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet was launched during the Mobile World Congress 2014 event held in Barcelona in February.

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is the successor to the Xperia Tablet Z, which was launched at MWC 2013. The Xperia Z2 Tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet features a 10.1-inch full-HD Triluminos display for Mobile with 'Live Colour LED powered by X-Reality'. The tablet also features digital noise cancelling technology and is touted to be the 'world's slimmest' tablet at 6.4mm and lightest at 426 grams.

The Xperia Z2 Tablet is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor alongside 3GB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth, and GLONASS. The tablet sports an 8.1-megapixel rear camera and also includes 2.2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 16GB inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card.

Sony also launched its Xperia Z2 smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC.

Sony at MWC also took the wraps off its latest mid-range Xperia M2 smartphone.
