  • BSNL also offers free voice calls with its broadband plans
  • The plan is available in 27 telecom circles

State-owned telecom operator BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nagar Limited) has reportedly launched a new unlimited voice calling plan for its landline phone subscribers. As part of the plan, subscribers can make unlimited BSNL-to-BSNL voice calls for a monthly tariff of Rs. 99. Add to that, there are no daily or weekly limits on the calling duration. In comparison, Airtel currently offers free unlimited voice calls to its home broadband subscribers.

BSNL subscribers, with the new Rs. 99 plan, can make unlimited voice calls to on-network landline and mobile numbers within the validity period, reports Telecom Talk. The report also mentions that the pack is available in all 27 telecom circles that BSNL operates in the country.

Much like what Airtel offers, BSNL recently announced that its FTTH/ broadband plans will offer free voice calling benefits, with BSNL-to-BSNL calls on some and calls to other networks on other offerings. To elaborate, subscribers availing plans with a monthly tariff between Rs. 249 and Rs. 645 will get unlimited calling benefits to BSNL numbers across the country, while those with plans above Rs. 645 can also avail unlimited voice calls to any other network in India.

In contrast, Reliance Jio currently does not offer landline or broadband services in the country but is expected to roll out something similar in the form of Jio Fiber set to launch sometime in the future.

Earlier this week, BSNL had introduced affordable non-FTTH broadband plans that offer a daily data limit and start at just Rs. 99 in terms of monthly tariff. Data benefits offered as part of these plans ranges from 45GB to 600GB for the month. With a regular speed of 20Mbps, speed is said to drop to 1Mbps after daily limit is exceeded.
