In our weekly column Personally Tech, we talk to men and women from different walks of life and hears their thoughts on the technology they love and rely on every day. This week, we caught up with Rajeev Singh, the Managing Director India, BenQ.

Singh is a movie nut, and his work at BenQ means that he buys the company's latest projectors and monitors to build out his home entertainment centre. He's also a camera enthusiast, and says he won't leave home without his Canon EOS 6D DSLR.

Read on to know more about the apps and devices he swears by.

Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
Rajeev Singh: I am an avid gadget user and I have a mix of devices at my home. I use an iPhone 5s, a MacBook Air and an iPad Air I can't imagine a life without these gadgets that have made my routine activities and work extremely mobile.

Aside from these, I have a Canon EOS 6D, which I love using in my free time. At home, I also have an Xbox 360, along with a personal multiplex set-up at home with a BenQ W1500 wireless projector and a Bose lifestyle V35 home theatre system.

What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
Rajeev Singh: Staying up to date on the news is really important for me. The NDTV app is one of the most used app; this keeps me updated real time with all the latest happenings around the world.

WhatsApp is of course a great way to stay connected with my team, friends and family.

And because I am a movie buff, I regularly use the IMDB app for movie reviews and keeping track of the new releases.

What is the one gadget (other than your phone) you never travel without?
Rajeev Singh: That has to be my DSLR. I have been using the Canon EOS 6D for some time, and since I have always been a photography enthusiast all my leisure time is spent experimenting with different types of photography techniques and clicking pictures of my kids.

What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
Rajeev Singh: I always wanted to have a personal home theatre experience zone at home which is now a reality. My next goal is to install an immersive entertainment set-up for games with my Xbox 360.

How has technology changed the way in which you work?
Rajeev Singh: Interconnectivity across mobile and desktop devices is one of the biggest boons that technology has led to. Today we are connected 24x7 with our colleagues across the globe to work in real time and collaborate with anyone from anywhere across the globe.

At BenQ, we are connected real time with all the employees through a WhatsApp group which have made it immensely easy at stay connected and receive and share regular market updates and opinions. Also, we have a similar group with key partners to constantly share and collaborate on market information and tracking. These have completely changes our way of working.
