Motorola India over the weekend confirmed plans to launch the Moto 360 Sport version in the country. The Lenovo-owned company in a tweet confirmed that the Moto 360 Sport will launch in India on Wednesday.

Initially unveiled in September, the Moto 360 Sport was aimed at athletes and fitness enthusiasts. It features an 'AnyLight' hybrid display, making it better at sunlight legibility, and a waterproof silicone body. The screen on the Moto 360 Sport can automatically adjust to the surrounding brightness.

The Moto 360 Sport comes with built-in GPS that can measure speed, distance, and pace, while a heart rate sensor can tracks other important vitals. The smartwatch also allows users to store and play music right from wrist. Motorola at launch last year claimed that the Moto 360 Sport's strong silicone construction with special UV coating keeps away moisture and resists fading or staining.

The Moto 360 Sport is said to offer up to two full days of use. Considering that the Moto 360 Sport was priced at $299.99 (approximately Rs. 20,000) in the US, we can expect the India pricing of the wearable to be priced around the same price.

The Android Wear-powered Moto 360 Sport features a 1.37-inch LCD display at 360x325 pixels resolution and 263ppi pixel density. The screen also sports Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection from scratches. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 with 450MHz GPU and 512MB of RAM. There is 4GB of storage and the Moto 360 Sport can be connected to smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0. It supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g and packs barometric altimeter, accelerometer, ambient light, and gyroscope sensors while also houses a vibration/ haptics engine.

It can measure heart rate and is water resistant with IP67 dust and water resistant certification. The smartwatch packs dual digital mics. The Moto 360 Sport packs a 300mAh battery.
