Uber has upgraded the ride-booking experience by allowing you to add up to three stops to your rides to help you quickly share your trip with your like-minded companions. The new multiple stops feature makes Uber a closer competitor to Lyft that received a similar feature back in August last year and takes on India-grown Ola that is yet to plan the same move. We are seeing the new Uber feature already rolling out in India.

You can use the multiple stops feature on your Uber app by tapping the "+" icon after adding your primary destination in the "where to?" section. Also, you can add or remove stops during your trip - making it even easy to move as per the updated plans with your friends and family members.

The Uber Driver app will provide real-time updates to your driver to help him take you to your destination accurately.

It is worth noting here that fares will change on the basis of total distance covered throughout the trip. Likewise, the feature is of no use if you're looking to share an UberPool ride.

"Whether you're heading to a costume party with friends, or a night out with your other half, you'll be able to arrive in one piece this Halloween weekend -- and beyond -- with the multiple stops feature," the Uber team writes in a blog post.

Uber hasn't defined whether the new feature will be available through a native update or as a server-side rollout. Nevertheless, it appears set to debut soon on your Uber app.

The multiple stops feature comes days after Uber released a no-fee Visa credit card in the US. The San Francisco-based company partnered with British bank Barclays to deliver the Uber card under a cashback loyalty programme.
