Viber on Tuesday announced it had hit the 100 million concurrent online users' milestone across its apps, alongside the release of a new version of the Viber app for Windows. The app features a refreshed UI for desktop and focuses more on sticker emoticons.

Users of the updated Viber app for Windows app can now easily search for stickers from the sticker menu, which can now even be docked to the side of the app. The app has also been upgraded for better video quality and performance. New users can download the new app and get started with entering their phone number.

"As usage increases, our priority remains the same - introducing features, adding more platforms, and improving Viber with every new version. This is exactly what we've done with the new Viber Desktop, and we're really excited for our users to try it out," said Talmon Marco, CEO of Viber.

The mobile text, voice and video messaging service Viber is now a Rakuten Group company. The application is widely available on almost all platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Blackberry 10, Windows, Windows 8, Mac, Linux, Symbian, Nokia S40 and Bada.

While the company notes that it has over 300 million users in 193 countries, its website has also got extended language support in Portuguese and Spanish to the existing support in English and Japanese.

Earlier on Monday the most popular VoIP service Skype had revealed the redesigned app Skype 5.0 app for iPhone with new and improved features.
