  • The packaging by ASUS was amazing, the laptop came with leather case
Ghost (Mar 10, 2017) on Amazon
The packaging by ASUS was amazing, the laptop came with leather case, and setup was no issues. Had to remove some bloatware but all laptops come with it. It is light and Rose Gold my wife loved it, everyone at her work loved it to.

  • Better than tablet
Amazon Customer (Aug 11, 2017) on Amazon
Love it! Was initially looking for Windows tablets. But I needed a good keyboard quite often. This met my requirements. It is as slim, if not slimmer than most tablets. Light weight. USB-C charging. Smaller boarder too. Only wish they had matte screen. No touch screen is OK for me.

  • STUNNING MACHINE - PERFECT FOR THOSE ON THE GO OR JUST A HOUSEHOLD GRAB AND GO LAPTOP
IT Professional + Life Professional (Aug 31, 2017) on Amazon
Absolutely STUNNING Ultrabook. Seriously, the laptops you would compare this to would be the THINNEST and LIGHTEST in the world. Similar models are the new "Macbook", the Lenovo Yoga 910 and 900, the Dell XPS 13 and some others. The thing is, this UX390 is as thin if not thinner and lighter than ALL of them! It's literally thinner than my IPAD especially with the case on.... think about that. Part of the reason for the low weight is the 12.5" screen so that makes sense, smaller form less weight. What makes this one stand apart is that it has a standard Intel Core i5 processor and not a Mobile M processor like the Macbook and other ultra thin laptops. Yes the fan has to run more often but I barely hear it and if you tone down the CPU performance you can get the fan to run less often.Yes this laptop only has 1 USBC port but the reality is that port is a "thunderbolt" or USB-C 3.1 port which means 1 single adapter can give you Ethernet, 3x USB 3.0 ports, SD and Micro SD ports, HDMI and even pass through charging. I spent $20 on ebay and got an adapter that does all of this perfectly. Asus sells one that may or may not come with the i7 model but if purchased separately will cost $120 so for that same cost buy 4 of the ones I have and your set at home, on the go and at work.Of course this laptop doesn't have a dedicated graphics card - DUH its WAY to small for that and graphics processing is not the purpose of this. The built in CPU/GPU, super fast SSD and Ram are enough for the everyday user.Lastly, the look of this model is superb and the pictures on Amazon DON'T do it justice. In real life its a much darker grey and the gold is not yellow like in the pictures.I recommend this machine for those on the GO. This laptop is for people who just need portability, speed and convenience.

  • A really great value wrapped in a very attractive package
Amazon Customer (Oct 2, 2017) on Amazon
Priced at just over $700 at the time of purchase this laptop is an immense value. If you're a person in need of a lightweight and very portable workstation for a college class or light software development work this is a very solid choice. As this is somewhat of a niche market, finding a laptop with this small of a footprint priced under $1000 while still being a decent computer can be somewhat of a challenge. The Zenbook3 does an excellent job at filling that role; With about a 12 inch footprint and weighing only 2 pounds it's very easy to fold up and take this laptop wherever you need to go. The i5-7200u offers more than enough power to utilize the laptop as a light to mid range workstation and the Intel 620, while not strong enough to run most AAA games, is still able to do light 3D work and perhaps even some lighter gaming with the settings dropped. It should have no problem running older 3D games and most 2D titles. The 8 gigs of ram might be a limiting factor to some users, however I haven't found myself using more than 50% as of yet.The battery life on the Zenbook is very reasonable(I admit I don't have much perspective in this category), I got about 10 hours of actual use on a single charge with relatively heavy usage in updating the laptop, installing usual software, and using generally for a few hours. This translated to a little over 24 hours on a single charge when time spent in sleep mode is included. The battery didn't seem to drain much, if at all, while in sleep mode and the laptop turned itself off after a little while of no use.The keyboard, as others have stated, is the Zenbook's biggest problem. It doesn't offer much travel at all and what little response you do get feels very stiff and somewhat mushy. It's not impossible to get used to, but I imagine it will never feel quite that great type anything long form on. The track pad on the other hand, depending on how you use it, is fantastic. The gesture inputs feel very responsive and the fingerprint scanner doesn't get in the way at all, it might be a problem however if you are a left hand user. I think it is best to treat this track pad as a touch device as the buttons offer so little feedback, it's hard to tell if you've actually clicked and are hard to use on a laptop of this weight anyway.Aesthetically this laptop is a very beautiful piece of hardware. The pictures found on the amazon listing are very misleading, the shade of the silver appears much darker, the gold accents are *much* more subtle, and the ring texture found on the top is much more subdued. It appears to be reasonably durable with it's metal construction and gorilla glass screen, however, since it's so thin I probably wouldn't carry this in a bag without an additional padded sleeve because it feels like flex might be an issue without care. The screen packed into the Zenbook, while only 1080p, is still a reasonably high quality display. Colors appear vibrant and deep although I did notice with some issues in the response time with some slight ghosting when scrolling down a web page. I can't imagine a 4K screen would be an advantage in a laptop of this size as it can already be difficult to read on a 12.5 inch 1080p screen without font scaling and the hardware wouldn't be strong enough to drive most 4K content other than video.A major note is the single USB-C port on the right side. I've never been one to have a problem with dongles and this generation's dongles come in such a small form factor it's hard to see it as an annoyance. I can see how this would be a major drawback to some users, but for my uses I have no problem with plugging in a dongle occasionally.Overall, if you're a user looking for something light, small, very portable, while still holding onto some power; The Zenbook is definitely one to consider. It provides a very professional and attractive aesthetic in a package that might rival the Thinkpad series in usefulness and at a now incredibly reasonable price. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better value currently without looking into refurbished or 2 gen old hardware. This laptop won't be a replacement for your desktop anytime soon, but it is incredibly useful when used in conjunction with one and if you're on of the few users that falls into the niche this laptop fills it is an absolute dream of a value.

  • Solid Build. Very Impressed with Asus.
Sam (Aug 30, 2017) on Amazon
I have had this product a little over a week and have been using it every day for 3-8 hours. I am a computer science student and run a lot of IDE's and text editors at varying times throughout the day. Overall this computer has exceeded my expectations. I wanted something very fast and light; and similar to a MacBook Pro without the $$$. I found these ZenBooks and was sold right away. After digging I realized amazon is about $300 cheaper than the competitors with the pricing of this laptop. ITS A STEAL. Anywhere else a ZenBook 3 is usually over $1,000. Pricing aside, the 7th gen i5 and 8gb of RAM is plenty for coding and running multiple applications at once. I read some bad reviews about the keyboard and touchpad, but honestly I really like them both. It feels very similar to a Mac with the short key presses, and I find the keys easy to read; not sure where all these complaints of not being able to read the keys come from. The back-light settings are great and the screen is very nice. UHD or something would have been nice, but FHD is fine. Speakers are 10/10 and I had Beats built into my last laptop; an HP Envy from 2013. That being said, the Harmon/Kardon audio is spectacular (and very loud). The finger print reader is a little iffy for me but I have big fingers and its kind of small so I'll let it slide. Appearance wise it is elegant as it gets. My heart rate jumped when I started unboxing; very very nice container and packaging. Then I got to the laptop and about dropped. The quartz grey aluminum and gold accents are straight up beautiful. No wonder it is nick named the 2017 MacBook KillerOverall, this laptop is fantastic. I would recommend to anyone and already have to a couple other CS majors. Very light and charges fast. Great for on the go with moderate to heavy use. The graphics are not anything special, but then again its not built for that. Comes with a nice leather case too.

  • Brilliant machine. Construction and performance
Pctechz (Dec 2, 2017) on Amazon
Brilliant machine. Construction and performance. My only issue is the fan noise and the location of the vents. Hot air blowing out on the screen...i am sure asus would have done enough testing to keep it like this.Super portable and fast enough for most users. Backlit keyboard and good travel. The touch pad is sensictve and will take time to get used to it.If you do not want to spend 1200 on a MacBook, definitely can go for this which is 600$ less and has a core i5 processor unlike the mac M3 or M5 processor.Packaging was cool and felt premium. After 2 days, I am starting to see issue with the battery life. While the backlight for the keyboad is on, it seems to reduce the battery life by 50%. Going to give it more test runs before any conclusion.

  • Really love this laptop
    Maes99 (Jan 26, 2018) on Amazon
Used it more than 1 month , Really love this laptop. Everything is just great [ Finger scan , Sound , Battery ]. Need to buy more Usb type C hub for additional adapter. One comment for touchpad, This model has touchpad with no separated area of left click or right click. Everything can be done in same area. Unlike my old laptop which has separated area for scroll mouse and click. Need to change my habit a bit for this.

  • Best ultrabook at competitive price.
Amazon Customer (Jan 22, 2018) on Amazon
    1. The laptop is really fast. It takes 4-6 sec to start. When in sleep mode it take only 2 sec get my desktop, doesn't matter how many application open on the background. I've tried with 3 browsers open along with 4/5 tabs in each and a running video on the background. It still nailed on it.2. Battery takes 1 hrs and 30 min to fully charged when you are using browser and display brightness at 20%-30%. Battery last 7-8 hrs when you are using power mode: better battery and fully using the laptop without let it sleep for a min and wifi on all the time.3. The display quality is really incredible. You're gonna love it withing 2/3 days of using. It didn't put pressure on your eye. Even though it has an app called eye care switcher which makes more comfortable brightness adjustments. Video quality is 9/10. But in few videos the darkness is bit high, so you need to manually increase the video brightness inside intel HD graphics color enhancement.4. The laptop is really light and thin. You can even hold it on a single hand and use it with another hand without having any trouble.5. When i come to speaker, i would say best laptop speaker i've ever found. The sound quality is incredible and very loud with perfect bass and treble. Anyone gonna love the speaker.6. Most of times, the fan remains off. While i'm charging the laptop and using it simultaneously, it get started and make bit noise. But thats rarely happen. In general, it happens when you are using the laptop on a bed and there is not strong surface on the ground to flow the air properly. CPU temperature remains at 30C - 45C in normal use. I've tried converting three 4k videos at 100% CPU usage and it reached at 75C after 4 min. What i dislike about the laptop is keyboard. I'm using the silver edition. You can barely recognize the button without the back-light. Since you can adjust the brightness of the backlight , the lowest one is good enough to recognize buttons.

  • I absolutely LOVE this laptop
Nicole Marie (Jan 11, 2018) on Amazon
I absolutely LOVE this laptop! It is so light which is perfect for me. I am a student and I already have to carry many papers and notebooks in my backpack so every extra pound really makes a difference. It's also quite powerful for its size! I don't think you could run high demand video games on it or anything, but all the basic stuff (word, powerpoint, internet, photoshop, etc.) functions perfectly and quickly. The SSD and RAM size is unbelievable for how small this laptop is. Bonus: the keyboard is backlit!!! So helpful in those dimly lit classrooms. This product is most certainly worth the price and I highly recommend it to anyone who needs it for basic purposes.

  • Make sure to download all the windows 10 update to get the battery life of 8+ hours
Green Home Living (Dec 18, 2017) on Amazon
Amazing laptop. This laptop is strong and well made. It is very stylish and eyes blowing. It's small like a Macbook 12'' but cost 800$ less and have a more powerful processor. I am also not use to apple to I was looking for a windows laptop. The screen is only Full HD but you will be amaze how sharp and colorful it is. You can open it with one finger just like the macbook.*IMPORTANT* I was having issues with the battery like the other reviewer but I noticed the windows 10 update wasn't completely done. When I completed the update, the computer battery like jumped for 4 hours of use at 100% to 8.5 HOURS of use. Make sure windows is fully updated before returning it or freaking out about the battery life. The shipping was mind blowing fast. I ordered it on Tuesday and the expected receive date was Monday. I comeback from work on Friday, go take a shower and at 4:30 P.M it rings at the doors ( think it was my clothing order I am waiting for 2 weeks ) open the doors to see an Amazon package ( still think it was not the laptop ) finally open it and found the beautiful laptop! Couldn't be happier! Thanks to the amazing Amazon logistics!Overall I think it is a strong competitors to the 12'' Macbook and any other ultra thin 12'' laptop.Good job ASUS!
