Japanese consumer electronics major Panasonic has launched 4K Ultra HD technology-based professional camcorder HC-X1000 in the Indian market.

The Panasonic HC-X1000, priced at Rs. 1.79 lakh, supports 4K Cinema (4096x2160 pixels), UHD (3840x2160 pixels) and full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) video recording, and has a host of professional functions. The 4K UHD camcorder is ideal for professional shooting documentaries and events in extremely high detail, Panasonic said in a statement.

Panasonic, which is a market leader in this segment with 65 percent market share claimed that the HC-X1000 is the world's first camcorder capable of recording

4K 60p/50p images onto an SD card. The HC-X1000 features a Leica Dicomar lens, and Panasonic says that despite its compact body, the 4K UHD camcorder features a focus ring, zoom ring, and iris ring on the lens barrel. It supports the avchd recording format, alongside mov and mp4. Panasonic is also touting its compact lenses and space-saving drive range that have allowed it to fit a 20x optical zoom in the body.

"The launch of this camcorder reinstates our commitment towards further expanding our presence in the professional camera segment. As 4K leverages the latest technology in our industry, we are offering 4K recording to our users and help them get equipped with this new offering from Panasonic," he added.

Panasonic India will continue to launch such offerings for its customers and the roadmap is to develop synergy within various 4K offerings from the company, so as to establish a control in the complete category rather than just a particular segment, the statement said.
