About Pinocchio Movie (1940)

An old Italian woodcarver, Geppetto (Christian Rub), sees a falling star and wishes that the wooden puppet he just finished, Pinocchio (Dickie Jones), could become a real boy. In the night, the puppet is brought to life by the Blue Fairy (Evelyn Venable), who informs Pinocchio that he can become a real boy if he proves himself to be brave, truthful, and unselfish.

The Blue Fairy asks Jiminy Cricket (Cliff Edwards) to serve as the wooden boy's conscience. But Pinocchio being naive and innocent falls into the grip of the wicked Honest John (Walter Catlett), who takes him to the sinful Pleasure Island.
