Pokemon Go's India release has finally happened on iOS and Android. You can now download and play Pokemon Go officially in India.

If you have an Android device, you don't have to wait for Niantic and The Pokemon Company to announce an official release date of Pokemon Go in your region. The game is out now in the US and Germany in addition to Australia and New Zealand. But if you don't live in these countries, the game's APK file is available for download, and it works on Android devices outside of the territories the game is available officially in right now.

These steps will allow you to download Pokemon Go in India as well. We've downloaded the game on our Android phones and it has been working fine in Mumbai and Delhi.

Initially the game was discovered on Australia and New Zealand app stores. Usually, most developers use these markets to test out certain aspects of the game such as micro-transaction prices and certain design elements. We've seen that with titles from other big name publishers like Rovio and EA. Chances are, the same applies here. The US launch seems like a knee-jerk reaction. With an event slated for sometime next month, called Pokemon Outbreak we won't be surprised to see a formal announcement around that time if not earlier.

Nonetheless, we've got the game working, look out for our impressions shortly.
