The release date of the hotly anticipated open-world stealth action game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been announced. Gamers can get their hands on it on September 1 for PlayStation 3 (PS3), PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The PC version will hit Steam on September 15.

The game will also have a collector's edition that features, of all things, a robotic arm. Metal Gear Online, the game's multiplayer mode, will go live on the release date on respective platforms.

While there's no confirmation on prices or editions for India, one can safely assume the console version of the would be around Rs. 3,499 - in line with the pricing of most AAA games at the moment.

Aside from this, it was also revealed that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be creator Hideo Kojima's last game in the series.

"I always say this will be my last Metal Gear. But the games on the series I have personally designed and produced - Metal Gear on MSX,Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid 1, 2, 3, 4, Peace Walker, and now Metal Gear Solid 5 are what constitute a single Metal Gear Saga. With Metal Gear Solid 5, I'm finally closing the loop on this saga. In that sense, this will be the final Metal Gear Solid. Even if the Metal Gear franchise continues, this is the last Metal Gear," Kojima said in the video.
