Our weekly series is on the apps and gadgets people from various walks of life love and can't live without. This week, we got to talk to Anisha Singh, the founder and CEO of Mydala - a location-based deals service. Here is the technology Singh can't live without.

1. Describe your technology setup - what computer/ phone/ tablet/ camera/ gaming console/ other gadgets do you use?
I use a Samsung series 9 laptop and also the Lenovo Yoga Ideapad. I'm currently using an iPhone 5s and HTC One, as we work on both the platforms. Usually I just use the camera on my phone. Apart from these I'm never without my Kindle which helps me tune out when time permits or my Jawbone Up fitness band which gets me moving when seated and tracks my running.

2. What are three apps (mobile/ tablet or PC/ Mac) you couldn't live without?
There are more than three apps so will list all of them. First, of course, is the Mydala app - it helps me save on pretty much everything which I like. The Jawbone app which tracks all I do in terms of eating, moving about or sleeping. I like the eBay US app since its super convenient for bidding on some of the pieces. Love Uber when I travel.

Actually there are two - my Kindle and the myCharge power bank.

4. What is your dream gadget/ technology setup?
My dream gadget would be to have my own personal assistant - a social robot who will organise my calendar, keep a check on monthly groceries, answer my voicemail (people in India don't really use voicemail very effectively). Something like the Jibo would be the dream gadget I would want to own. I'm pre-ordering a Jibo and looking forward for when it's launched next December.

5. How has technology changed the way you work?
Technology has made us a lot more efficient. It enables me to travel a lot more, as I'm always connected with my family - through Skype and FaceTime. Technology is a great enabler but it comes with a price, you end up being a slave to it without even realising. There is no such a thing as 'time out' since I'm always connected. For a hands-on person like me it means less sleep and more checking on things when it's probably not required. That's why my vacations are usually to remote places where you have to either check your cell phones in or where there is no connectivity, no TV, no Wi-Fi.
