  • Apple is planning a big makeover for its iCloud storage service by adding photo sharing and social features.
As per reports in The Wall Street Journal, Apple is planning a major overhaul of its iCloud storage service by adding photo sharing and social features. The announcement is expected to be made at the WWDC to be held in San Francisco on June 11.

The update will allow iCloud users to share photos with fellow users who can access and download them. They can also add comments to these photos just like Facebook.  Users will also be able to sync personal videos through iCloud and will now have access to Notes and Reminders via iCloud's web interface, both of which are available as separate apps on iOS devices.

Presently, iCloud offers Photo Stream as the only means for users to sync photos across all iOS devices. As of now, users can access either their past 30 days photos or a thousand of them on Apple devices and PCs.  Meanwhile, discussions regarding increased storage for photos and albums for iCloud users are also underway.

With cloud wars getting intense amongst rivals such as Google, Dropbox and Microsoft , Apple is sure to attract eyeballs with its iCloud upgrade at WWDC. The array of upgraded iCloud features is likely to debut with the release of iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion at the conference.
