Highlights
  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the successor of Redmi Note 3
  • Both smartphones offer big batteries, Android 6.0, and 5.5-inch displays
  • There are several minor differences between Redmi Note 4 and Redmi Note 3

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the latest budget stalwart from the Chinese smartphone brand, offering a big battery, ample storage and RAM, and a price tag that would be hard to match for most rivals.

The new Xiaomi smartphone comes in three variants – 32GB storage + 2GB RAM at Rs. 9,999, 32GB storage + 3GB RAM at Rs. 10,999, and 64GB storage + 4GB RAM at Rs. 12,999. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4's predecessor, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, has much the same features but comes in two variants (16GB storage + 2GB RAM at Rs. 9,999, and 32GB storage + 3GB RAM at Rs. 11,999) and slightly different design.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Review

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is quite similar to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 if you go by the spec sheet: both smartphones have huge battery capacities, fingerprint sensors on the back, large displays, expandable storage up to 256GB, and 4G LTE support.

One difference, however, is in the megapixel count of the rear camera – while the Redmi Note 3 had a 16-megapixel camera, the new Redmi Note 4 has a 13-megapixel camera on the back. The selfie cameras on both Xiaomi smartphones have 5-megapixel sensors. Also, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 packs the Snapdragon 625 processor – which is great at heat dissipation, made on the new, battery-efficient 14nm process, and has clock speed of 2GHz for all eight cores – under the hood, while the older model had the Snapdragon 650 chipset, which is based on the older 28nm process and has two 1.8GHz cores and four 1.2GHz cores.
