Spain-based phone manufacturer, Geeksphone on Monday has announced a price cut and new software features on its dual-OS smartphone 'Revolution'. The smartphone, capable of running Android as well as the Firefox OS, will be available at EUR 199 (EUR 164 excluding VAT) on the company's online store as well as at major European Amazon shops, starting May 1.

Earlier the Geeksphone Revolution was priced at EUR 222 (approximately Rs. 19,000) on its official web store with worldwide shipping option.

About the new software, the Spanish company hasn't given out the exact timeframe of release, but has said that it will incorporate also Android 4.4 KitKat, Firefox OS 2.0 (FXOS 2.0) and CyanogenMod 11 in the coming days.

At present, the Revolution smartphone lets you choose between Android or Mozilla's FXOS (Boot2Gecko) operating system and the company said it is already working on Android 4.4 KitKat and FXOS 2.0 updates.

"Geeksphone's philosophy has always consisted in giving maximum possible freedom to users, who ask for it every day. Therefore, we keep on innovating and offering the best solutions as in the case of the Geeksphone 'Revolution'," said Rodrigo Silva-Ramos, Founder Geeksphone.
