Just few hours ahead of Motorola's much-awaited event that is widely expected to see the launch of the Moto G and Moto X successors, a new leak has showcased the successor to the Moto G in images alongside its retail box.

It's worth mentioning that this is the second time that the 'new Moto G' has been leaked in images with the retail box. An image of the purported box packaging of the Moto G's successor - claimed to be shot at a Flipkart warehouse in Bangalore - had surfaced online.

The new leaked image again tips that the handset might be either just called the Moto G or New Moto G, as evinced by the Moto G branding on the box.

Another image posted by Tecmundo site shows that the yet-to-be-announced handset will come with digital TV support, a feature that has been seen on Moto G. The leaked front panel image shows the handset sporting dual speaker grills both on the top and bottom of the display, like the Moto E.

Further, the leaked image of the retail box lists some of the specifications of the 'New Moto G' such as a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection; 8-megapixel rear camera; dual-SIM support; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, and support for changeable shells.

Previous leaks have also indicated the successor to the Moto G will come with thinner bezels than its predecessor; a 2-megapixel front camera; front stereo speakers, support for microSD card; 1GB of RAM; 8GB of internal storage, and run on Android 4.4.4 KitKat with an upgrade path to Android L.

Flipkart, the exclusive retail partner for Motorola handsets in India, has been teasing the upcoming launch of a new smartphone via its Twitter handle. While the teasers thus far have not made it clear which phone is being referred to, the teasers have been however referring to "The next level of the exceptional smartphone. Coming soon."

Now, considering that Motorola has been promoting its Moto G in India as an "Exceptional phone" at an "Exceptional price", it does appears as if the Flipkart teasers refer to the successor of the Moto G.

For those unaware, Motorola India has also confirmed an event on September 5 in the country where the company is expected to launch the successors of the Moto X and Moto G.
