Nokia Normandy and mystery Nokia Asha device purportedly leaked in renders

The first leaked render shows a complete revamped Asha phone that doesn't bear any code name. Interestingly, the leaked render pictures the alleged phone housing a physical button on the front panel, which looks more like the one found on Samsung's Galaxy Android smartphones. Further, the leaked render reveals the Fastlane UI on the alleged Asha device which also includes Bing, Store, and Tutorial apps on the homescreen. @evleaks tweet reads, "What is This Thing? The second leaked render shows Nokia's another Asha phone thought to be dubbed Nokia Normandy. The leaked render reveals the alleged Normandy phone in Red and shows the device's front and rear panel in full glory. The leaked render suggests that Nokia might be gearing up to bring the Lumia design to Asha phones with the alleged Nokia Normandy. @evleaks's tweet about Normandy reads, "A real Asha. Or Lumia? The Nokia Normandy." Unfortunately, there is no word on the specifications of the alleged mystery Nokia Asha device and the Nokia Normandy phone.

Recently, Nokia released an over-the-air Asha software platform update for the popular Asha 501. The headline-grabbing feature in the update has been the addition of instant messaging app, WhatsApp.

The new features added on Asha 501 via the software update had already been revealed by the company during the unveiling of the Nokia Asha 500, Asha 502 and Asha 503 at Nokia World. Some notable changes included instant access to the camera app with the help of single swipe on the lockscreen, and capturing images by touching anywhere on the camera display.

Further, with another swipe one could go to gallery and edit images with newly added filters and effects. Nokia has also revamped the Fastlane UI on the Asha 501, which now features an interactive alarm and improved privacy features on the lockscreen, allowing users to choose between a notification icon, and a full notification with details.
